Guntur Mayor Kovelamudi Ravindra on Monday affirmed that developmental works in the city have gained momentum since the coalition government came to power.

Along with Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu and Guntur West MLA Galla Madhavi, Ravindra laid foundation stones for CC roads, drains and culverts worth `3.40 crore in the Krishna Nagar area.

He said basic infrastructure is being developed ward-wise, based on local needs and proposals from public representatives. Works are being executed not just within municipal limits but also in merged villages, irrespective of political affiliations, he added.

Highlighting Guntur’s importance as part of the capital region, Ravindra revealed that plans are underway to develop the city to match its status. He assured that drinking water and sanitation are being closely monitored and directed contractors to maintain quality and complete works on time.

Corporator Eranti Varaprasad, engineering officials and leaders of coalition parties took part.
