NEW DELHI — President Droupadi Murmu administered the Oath of Office of Vice President of India to C. P. Radhakrishnan at a swearing-in-ceremony held at Ganatantra Mandap in Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former President Ram Nath Kovind, former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Chief Justice of India Justice B R Gavai, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and several Union Ministers, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, J.P. Nadda, Piyush Goyal, and Nitin Gadkari were present at the swearing-in ceremony.
Radhakrishnan, the National Democratic Alliance pick, won the Vice-Presidential election on September 9, securing 452 votes. He defeated B Sudershan Reddy, a former Supreme Court judge and candidate of the I.N.D.I.A. bloc, by 152 votes.
