PM Modi inaugurates and lays stones for ₹6,300 crore in Darrang, Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for key infrastructure and industrial development projects worth over ₹6,300 crore in Darrang, Assam, aimed at boosting healthcare, connectivity, and urban mobility.


On Sunday, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for multiple initiatives in Darrang, including the Darrang Medical College and Hospital, GNM School, and B.Sc. Nursing College. These projects are designed to strengthen medical education and improve healthcare delivery across the region.

Modi also laid the foundation stone for the Kuruwa–Narengi Bridge over the Brahmaputra River, a vital infrastructure project expected to enhance regional connectivity and stimulate socio-economic development.

Additionally, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Guwahati Ring Road Project, which aims to improve urban mobility, alleviate traffic congestion, and enhance connectivity in and around Assam’s capital city.
