‘OG’ smashes pre-sale records ahead of grand release

Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming action thriller They Call Him OG, directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Entertainment, is set for worldwide release on September 25, and has already broken advance booking records in international markets.

In Australia, the Melbourne IMAX premiere—the world’s second-largest screen—sold out in under two minutes. In North America, pre-sales have surpassed $1.57 million (Rs 13,82,22,719), with 54,304 tickets booked across 441 locations and 1,737 shows, exceeding Kalyan’s previous film records. Fans have flooded X with updates, boosting the buzz alongside promotional tracks like Thaman S.’s “Guns N Roses.”

At a Hyderabad media event on Monday, actress Priyanka Mohan, who stars opposite Kalyan in the gangster revenge saga featuring Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist, praised the actor’s work ethic. She described him as an effortless performer who meticulously prepares scenes while improvising collaboratively. Off-screen, she said their conversations often touched on books, politics, and social issues, despite his role as Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister.

Calling OG a high-energy action spectacle, Mohan expressed enthusiasm for its release and mentioned her appearance in the song “Suvvi Suvvi.” The film’s trailer and pre-release events are expected to further fuel momentum as global anticipation builds.
