In a heartfelt gesture, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Powerstar Pawan Kalyan announced that the entire proceeds from the premiere shows of his film OG will be donated to the Telugu Film 24 Crafts Association Workers Welfare Fund.
The donation is expected to provide direct financial support to thousands of behind-the-scenes workers. This includes set designers, technicians, costume assistants, and lighting crews whose contributions are vital to filmmaking but often go unrecognised.
Industry leaders have hailed the move as a landmark moment for worker welfare in Tollywood. “This is a historic decision that will bring real relief to our workers. It reflects not only Pawan Kalyan Garu’s stature as a leader but also his heart as a fellow member of the film family,” said a representative from the association.
It may be recalled that the film workers had recently boycotted duties, demanding enhanced wages. Pawan Kalyan, who always had been vocal about their issues, proved his intention once again. He acted not just in words, but in deeds by pledging the collections of OG premier shows.

On the other hand, the Telangana High Court has suspended the government order allowing the movie makers to hike the ticket prices and to screen benefit shows.
With record-breaking pre-release business, and unprecedented buzz, the film’s premiere collections were expected to be substantial. This makes the donation all the more impactful.
Fans have flooded social media with praise for the actor’s generosity, celebrating his commitment to social responsibility. Many have called the move a “defining moment” that blends cinematic celebration with community upliftment.
Balancing his dual roles as a politician and a film icon, Pawan Kalyan continues to demonstrate that his influence extends far beyond the screen. His decision is being seen as a benchmark for future initiatives in the industry. One that prioritizes the welfare of those who make cinema possible.
