HRD, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh formally launched the distribution of educational material on Tuesday, leveraging a significant corporate donation to bolster the State’s student welfare programme.
The event marked the formal handover of a massive donation from KLSR Infratech Limited, a Hyderabad-based firm, which contributed one lakh note books and pens for the State government’s prestigious Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyarthi Mitra Kit scheme. The total value of this philanthropic contribution is estimated to be approximately ₹40 lakh.
These essential study materials are designated for distribution to students enrolled in government schools across the State, ensuring they receive the necessary resources as part of the comprehensive kit.
HRD Minister Lokesh inaugurated the distribution by flagging off the truck carrying the donated books and pens. He underscored the importance of public-private partnerships in advancing education.
The ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including MLC Beeda Ravichandra Yadav. Representatives from the donating firm present were KL Sridhar Reddy, Managing Director of KLSR Infratech Limited, and Director K Preetham Reddy. Also present was B Srinivasa Rao, State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha, who is overseeing the implementation of the scheme.
