Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has lambasted the YSRCP, accusing it of spreading false narratives to mislead the public. He called on coalition leaders and party workers to actively counter misinformation and spotlight the government’s accomplishments.
During a teleconference held on Sunday with ministers, MPs, MLAs, and TDP officials, Naidu condemned the actions of 11 YSRCP MLAs. He claimed they were absent from Assembly sessions while engaging in theatrics in the Legislative Council. He urged party members to take a proactive stance in communicating the government’s welfare and development programmes. The YSRCP is known for baseless social media campaigns and personal attacks.
Naidu emphasised the importance of maintaining strong connections with the public. He stressed addressing their concerns and sharing the positive impact of initiatives like the ‘Super Six’ schemes. He highlighted the success of the Mega DSC recruitment drive, which created 15,941 teaching positions. This drive contributed to a total of 4.71 lakh jobs over 15 months.
He also pointed to welfare schemes such as ‘Thalliki Vandanam’, ‘Stree Shakti’, ‘Annadata Sukheebhava’, and ‘Deepam-2.0’. Along with these, the Anna Canteens are transformative efforts that have uplifted economically disadvantaged communities. Andhra Pradesh, he noted, leads the nation in pension distribution.
Naidu mentioned that major infrastructure projects like Handri-Neeva and Polavaram are advancing swiftly. These projects aim to optimise water resource usage. He announced a new support initiative for auto and cab drivers. This initiative offers `15,000 per beneficiary and is set to launch on October 4.
TDP Supremo emphasis on tracking feedback
The TDP Supremo stressed the importance of tracking feedback on government schemes. He also focused on leaders’ performance, advocating for recognition of committed individuals, and urged rejection of empty promises. The Chief Minister also praised the GST 2.0 reforms. These reforms simplified tax slabs to 5% and 18%. They resulted in ₹8,000 crore in savings for citizens through reduced prices on essentials like vehicles and appliances.
To amplify awareness of these reforms, Naidu instructed leaders to organize 60,000 outreach meetings. These meetings aim at connecting with 1.60 crore families by October 19, through a large-scale GST Utsav campaign. Despite a dip in state revenue, he asserted that these reforms have boosted purchasing power. They have improved living standards.
In the energy sector, strategic procurement decisions have saved ₹1,000 crore. This easing of the financial burden on consumers was achieved by implementing a swapping mechanism and a “true down” strategy. The government has addressed inefficiencies from the previous administration, which had led to inflated costs. Naidu urged party members to clearly communicate these achievements to strengthen public confidence in the current governance.
