Resignation Submitted to Government

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board member Janga Krishnamurthy has submitted his resignation, requesting the Andhra Pradesh government to accept it at the earliest. In his letter, he cited mental distress caused by recent developments and media reports.
Expressing gratitude, Krishnamurthy thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for giving him the opportunity to serve Lord Venkateswara. He described the role as a divine blessing and said he would remain forever indebted for the chance to serve the presiding deity of the Kali Yuga.
Media Reports Trigger Distress
However, Krishnamurthy stated that certain reports published in a leading Telugu daily over the past two days deeply hurt him. According to him, the newspaper carried stories without seeking his version, which resulted in personal defamation.
Moreover, he said the reports failed to verify facts before publishing allegations. He expressed disappointment over what he termed as irresponsible journalism, adding that such actions damaged his reputation unnecessarily.
Clarification on Flat Re-allotment Issue
Clarifying the controversy, Krishnamurthy explained that he had only requested the re-allotment of Balaji Nagar Flat No. 2, which has remained vacant so far. He stated that the request was formally submitted to the Chief Minister.
Subsequently, the matter was referred to the TTD Board for consideration. After due discussion, the board passed a resolution and forwarded it to the government, he said. Therefore, he rejected claims that he misused his position or authority.
Allegations of Misuse Strongly Denied
Additionally, Krishnamurthy objected to narratives suggesting that he had acted improperly within the sacred premises of Lord Venkateswara. He questioned the morality of portraying him as someone who defiled a holy place for personal gain.
He stated that such allegations amounted to character assassination. According to him, dragging personal integrity into unverified stories was deeply painful and unjust.
Cabinet Decision Adds to Pain
Meanwhile, Krishnamurthy expressed concern over the cabinet decision taken recently to cancel the board resolution. He said the decision appeared to have been made without a complete understanding of the facts.
As a result, he felt continuing in the board would only create further embarrassment to the sacred institution.
Voluntary Exit in the Interest of the Institution
Therefore, Krishnamurthy decided to step down voluntarily. He said he did not wish to bring any controversy to TTD or the temple administration.
In his letter, he sought forgiveness from Lord Venkateswara for losing the opportunity to continue his service. Finally, he appealed to the authorities to accept his resignation with humility and devotion.
The state government is yet to issue an official response.
