As part of his GOAT India Tour, global football icon Lionel Messi visited the Vantara wildlife conservation centre, founded by Anant Ambani, and experienced unforgettable moments with nature and wildlife.
After touring Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi, Messi arrived at Vantara along with his Inter Miami teammates Luis Suárez and Rodrigo De Paul. Officials welcomed him with traditional folk music, flower showers, and aarti, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage.
Traditional Rituals and Spiritual Experience
Soon after his arrival, Messi participated in Ambey Mata puja, Ganesh puja, Hanuman puja, and Shiva abhishekam. He also offered prayers for world peace and unity, aligning with India’s age-old philosophy of harmony between nature and humanity.
Exploring Wildlife Conservation at Vantara
Later, with the help of expert guides, Messi explored Vantara’s vast wildlife ecosystem. He observed several rescued animals, including tigers, elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs, all thriving in a natural and protected environment.
At the Big Cat Care Centre, lions, leopards, and tigers moved curiously toward Messi, creating heartwarming moments. These interactions left the football legend visibly delighted.
Advanced Care Facilities Impress Messi
Messi also visited the Herbivore Care Centre and Reptile Care Centre, where he closely observed advanced veterinary care, customized nutrition plans, and modern breeding protocols. These facilities have helped Vantara earn global recognition in wildlife welfare.
At the Foster Care Centre, Messi learned about the rehabilitation journey of orphaned and vulnerable young animals. During this visit, Anant Ambani and Radhika Ambani named a lion cub “Lionel” in his honor, marking a memorable highlight of the tour.
