Superstar Rajinikanth offered prayers at the world-famous Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday, a day after celebrating his 75th birthday. The actor arrived at the hill shrine along with his family, including his daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya.
Rajinikanth’s temple visit drew attention from devotees and fans, who viewed the pilgrimage as a spiritual moment following the milestone birthday of one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated icons.
On Friday, wishes poured in from across the film industry as Rajinikanth turned 75. Top stars from different regions extended warm greetings, highlighting his five-decade-long contribution to Indian cinema. Actor Kamal Haasan described him as a close friend and hailed his “75 years of a remarkable life and 50 years of legendary cinema.” Malayalam superstar Mohanlal echoed similar sentiments in his birthday message.
Politician, producer and actress Khushbu Sundar referred to Rajinikanth as “God’s favourite child” and praised his dedication, humility and perseverance. She called him an institution and an inspiration to millions.
Filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj also took to social media to wish the superstar good health and happiness, thanking him for inspiring generations of cinema lovers. Actor Harish Kalyan shared a personal note, recalling how watching Baasha as a child left a lasting impact on him.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth celebrated his birthday on the sets of director Nelson’s upcoming action thriller Jailer 2. Sun Pictures, the film’s production house, shared a video of the cake-cutting ceremony, showing the actor celebrating with the film’s core team. Rajinikanth was seen feeding cake to director Nelson before returning to his caravan.
