The Telangana Board released the 2026 SSC exam schedule, confirming that Class 10 exams will start on March 14 and end on April 16. This year, the board planned the seven papers over nearly one full month, and about five lakh students will take these exams.
Three to Five Days Between Each Paper
The government added a longer gap between subjects.
- Hindi has a 3-day break.
- English, Mathematics, and Science each have a 4-day break.
- Social Studies has a 5-day break.
Most exams will run from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. However, Physical Science and Biological Science will take only 90 minutes, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
Teachers Raise Concerns Over Month-Long Schedule
Teachers strongly object to the extended timetable. They say the SSC exams usually finish within 10 to 12 days, but the new plan stretches them far longer. As a result, students may lose focus during the long gaps. Many teachers fear that students who prepared through special classes may forget lessons and feel more pressure. They argue that longer breaks do not reduce stress; instead, they disrupt the study rhythm.
Officials Defend the Exam Plan
Meanwhile, education officials defend the schedule. They explain that CBSE also follows a similar pattern with wider gaps between subjects. Moreover, several festivals and public holidays fall during the exam window. Ugadi, Ramzan, Sri Rama Navami, Good Friday, and Ambedkar Jayanti create natural gaps, which forced the board to design a longer timetable.
A Debate That Continues
The debate over the SSC schedule continues, as teachers push for a tighter plan and officials insist the current model benefits students. With exams only months away, both sides hope to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience for learners.
