Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met PAC members in Telangana, urging them to strengthen the party and focus on social issues. He warned that government actions could create conflict and called for readiness. Gandhi criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the government’s misdeeds are visible and the public should know the truth. He also stressed that India must avoid situations like Iran and highlighted risks in the Indo-American trade deal.
Gandhi praised the Telangana state government’s collaboration with the party. He supported the senior leaders’ suggestion to introduce a private bill in Parliament to increase BC reservations. PAC members from both Telugu states attended the meeting. Leaders present included CM Revanth Reddy, KS Venugopal, Meenakshi Natarajan, Mahesh Goud, and YS Sharmila. After the session, Gandhi, Reddy, and Venugopal travelled from SAP Arts and Science College to Anantagiri Haritha Resorts to attend the closing session of the DCC presidents’ training.
Meanwhile, Gandhi plans to meet former Maoist leaders. Earlier, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met ex-Maoists such as Devji, Rajireddy, Prasad Rao, Kalpana, Chokkar Rao, and Narsimha Reddy. They discussed integrating former Maoists into mainstream life and ensuring fair resettlement packages in neighbouring states. The upcoming Gandhi-Maoist meeting raises political questions. Will these leaders join politics? While the central government pursues Maoists, Congress shows empathy, creating new political dynamics.
