Parents of a student who died at a coaching institute in Prakasam district staged a protest near the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in Amaravati on Thursday, demanding justice for their son. The protest created tension in the area as the grieving parents accused authorities of trying to suppress the case.
The student, identified as Tawshiq, was studying at a coaching centre run by Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions in Singarayakonda Mandal. He died recently under suspicious circumstances. His parents alleged that their son did not die by suicide and claimed that someone killed him and later attempted to portray it as a suicide case.
According to the family Tawshiq had spoken happily with them just minutes before the incident. They questioned how a boy who was cheerful moments earlier could suddenly take such a drastic step. The parents said the circumstances surrounding his death raise serious doubts and require a thorough investigation.
The family also accused the coaching institute management, education department officials, and police authorities of acting together to weaken the case. They claimed that key facts are being ignored and that the truth behind their son’s death is being hidden.
To demand justice, the parents travelled to Amaravati and protested near the Assembly building while the legislative session was underway. However, the protest was short-lived as police intervened and detained the parents, citing security concerns around the Assembly premises.
The incident has drawn attention to student safety and accountability in private coaching institutions. Meanwhile, the grieving parents have vowed to continue their fight until they receive justice and a transparent investigation into their son’s death.
