The 6th edition of the Junior and Senior C National Yogasana Championship for 2025–26 kicked off with vibrant energy at Siddhartha Arts and Science College in Vijayawada on Sunday, infusing the city with a renewed athletic spirit.
Spanning four days from September 28 to October 1, the championship has attracted over 1,500 participants from various parts of the country. Organized by the Yogasana Sports Association of Andhra Pradesh and supported by Yogasana Bharat, the event showcases the growing prominence of yogasana as a competitive sport.
During the inauguration, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) emphasized the importance of yogasanas in enhancing both physical and mental well-being. He expressed pride in Vijayawada hosting such a prestigious national event and acknowledged the contributions of both Central and State governments in promoting yogasana on a global scale. He also referenced the Guinness World Record achieved in Visakhapatnam on International Yoga Day, highlighting yoga’s role in managing long-term health conditions.
The opening ceremony was graced by several notable figures, including honorary president Gotipati Ramakrishna, president A Radhika, and other distinguished guests.
