The controversy surrounding actor Sivaji’s remarks on women’s attire continues to spark strong reactions. Now, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) has once again entered the debate with a sharp response.
Criticising Sivaji’s moral policing, RGV cited the heroines of Prabhas’ upcoming film The Raja Saab as an example. He praised them for confidently expressing themselves and ignoring what he called regressive criticism.
RGV’s Strong Reaction on Social Media
RGV shared a photo from The Raja Saab pre-release event on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. The picture featured Prabhas along with heroines Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar.
Reacting to their appearance at the event, Varma wrote that the actresses chose to wear what they liked, despite ongoing criticism. He went a step further by calling them “heroes” for standing their ground.
According to RGV, their confidence delivered a “slap-like reply” to those attempting to dictate how women should dress. His post quickly gained traction and reignited discussions online.
Background of the Controversy
Earlier, Sivaji’s comments on women’s clothing triggered widespread backlash on social media. Many netizens accused him of moral policing and targeting women unfairly.
RGV had already lashed out at Sivaji during the initial phase of the controversy. At that time, he remarked that Sivaji should enforce his morals within his own household, not impose them on women in society.
Debate Continues
Meanwhile, the debate over personal freedom, choice, and moral policing continues across platforms. RGV’s latest comments have further fueled the discussion, with many supporting his stand and praising the actresses for their confidence.
