A major financial network connecting child trafficking gangs has come to light in Vijayawada. Investigators have uncovered large-scale money transfers between accused persons operating across multiple cities, including Vijayawada, Delhi, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad.
According to police sources, the financial trail clearly shows coordination between different gangs involved in trafficking children. The analysis of bank and UPI transactions revealed frequent fund transfers between the accused and several unidentified individuals.
Money Trail Reveals Inter-Gang Nexus
So far, Vijayawada police have arrested 12 accused in the child trafficking case. During the investigation, officials examined their financial records. As a result, they detected transactions ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹1.80 lakh between accounts linked to the accused.
The main accused, Balagam Sarojini of Vijayawada, allegedly arranged the supply of children through gangs based in Delhi and Mumbai. Police found that money was transferred from Sarojini to Satish, Anil, Kiran Sharma, and others. Notably, Satish appeared as the recipient in most transactions.
Investigators identified Kiran Sharma, Priyanka, and Bharti as key operatives of the Delhi-based gang. Meanwhile, Anil, Kavitha, Noori, Kajal, and Satish reportedly played central roles in the Mumbai network. Priyanka and Bharti are known to reside in the same locality in Delhi.
Profits Shared Between Gangs
Police revealed that the Delhi and Mumbai gangs targeted financially distressed families. They allegedly took infants from such families and sent them to Vijayawada. Financial records indicate that the proceeds from these illegal activities were shared equally between the gangs.
Further investigation revealed that Anil and Satish, who operate from Ahmedabad, are close relatives. In Vijayawada, the network reportedly includes Sarada, her husband, and the brother of Sarojini.
Special Teams to Crack Wider Network
Since the case spans multiple cities, police have formed four special teams. These teams will travel to Delhi, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad within the next two days. Their goal is to arrest remaining accused and trace the origins of the trafficked children. Officers are also trying to identify and, if possible, reunite the children with their parents.
