The Andhra Pradesh government has stepped up efforts to fast-track development in the Amaravati capital region. Urban Development Minister P. Narayana announced that the second phase of land acquisition will begin from today, marking a key milestone in the capital’s expansion.
Land Acquisition for Major Projects Starts
Minister Narayana said the government will begin acquiring land for the Inner Ring Road, Smart City projects, and the Railway Bridge. The second phase will focus on Endrai and Vaddamanu villages. He stated that these projects will strengthen connectivity and support long-term urban planning in Amaravati. At the same time, officials are speeding up infrastructure works on lands acquired earlier.
CRDA Staffing to Boost Execution
Meanwhile, the minister confirmed that the authority has approved the creation of 754 new posts in the CRDA. These positions will be filled through contract, outsourcing, and deputation. As a result, the additional manpower will help execute projects more efficiently and reduce delays.
Steps to Resolve Farmers’ Grievances
In addition, the government has taken concrete steps to address farmers’ concerns. Minister Narayana said officials have registered 112 complaints related to the road-hit issue. Therefore, departments are coordinating closely to resolve these grievances at the earliest.
Support for Orphaned Minors
At the same time, the CRDA has relaxed norms to extend social support. The authority approved pensions for orphaned minors who do not have parents. Currently, seven minors will receive financial assistance under this decision.
Marina Project and Fresh Land Notification
Furthermore, the CRDA has cleared a proposal to set up a marina on one acre in the Krishna River as part of the city’s development plan. Along with this, the government will soon issue a notification to acquire four and a half acres of land on the Seed Axis Road.
Concluding his remarks, Minister Narayana said the government remains fully committed to planned development. He added that Amaravati’s growth will continue at a faster and more organised pace in the coming days.
