The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department has announced a clear roadmap for teacher transfers and promotions, scheduled for April and May this year. The decision was shared during a meeting with leaders of various teacher unions, where officials outlined timelines, policy clarity, and administrative assurances to address long-pending demands.
Officials said proposals to fill vacant posts under the High School Plus system have already been sent to the government. Moreover, teachers who worked during summer vacations will receive earned leave as compensation. Orders related to these measures are expected within a week, giving much-needed clarity before the new academic year begins.
Transfers, Vacancies, and Counselling Rules
Until regular vacancies are filled, cluster teachers will continue moving between schools to manage academic needs. However, officials confirmed that previous service points will be considered during the upcoming transfer counselling process. This assurance has eased concerns among senior teachers awaiting fair placement.
Promotions and Union Demands
The department also clarified that School Assistant Language promotions will be conducted in a 30:70 ratio for SGTs. However, union leaders urged the government to revise the ratio to 70:30, citing seniority and service balance. Discussions on this issue are expected to continue in upcoming meetings.
Weekly Meetings and Salary Assurance
To ensure smoother coordination, the department announced weekly meetings with teacher unions. Officials also assured that salary-related issues will receive immediate attention. According to them, proactive dialogue will help resolve problems without delays.
With structured timelines and regular engagement, the government aims to streamline teacher administration while maintaining academic stability across schools.
