Early Morning Firing Incident Shocks Locals
A firing incident created panic at Koti Bank Street in the early morning. The incident took place near the State Bank of India main branch. Armed attackers opened fire and escaped with cash, triggering fear among early commuters and shop owners.
The incident occurred around 7 a.m., a time when the area usually remains calm. However, the sudden gunshots disrupted normal movement in the locality.
Cash Handler Targeted While Heading to ATM
Rashid, who was carrying cash for an ATM deposit, arrived near the ATM to complete his task. At that moment, the attackers followed him closely. Within seconds, they opened fire to stop him from resisting.
As a result, the assailants managed to snatch ₹6 lakh in cash. Soon after the attack, Rashid lodged a complaint with the police, detailing the sequence of events.
Victim Injured, Shifted to Hospital
During the firing, a bullet struck Rashid’s leg. He fell to the ground as the attackers fled the scene. Meanwhile, locals rushed to help him and alerted emergency services.
Authorities shifted Rashid to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors confirmed that his condition remains stable.
Police Launch Search Operation
Police teams reached the spot immediately after receiving the information. They secured the area and began an investigation. At the same time, officers started examining CCTV footage from nearby buildings and the bank premises.
