The Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Tirupati will hold the Koopuchandrapeta Utsavam on February 2. As part of the tradition, the Utsava idols of Sri Kodandarama Swamy, Sita, and Lakshmana will travel in a ceremonial procession to Koopuchandrapeta village.
Koopuchandrapeta lies nearly eight kilometres from Tirupati. The procession will reach the village at 9.30 a.m. Soon after arrival, priests will perform Snapana Tirumanjanam with Vedic chants. Meanwhile, devotees from nearby areas will gather to witness the sacred ritual.
Later in the day, Unjal Seva will take place between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. This ritual will add to the devotional atmosphere. After that, the temple will conduct Gramotsavam through the village streets. Devotees will offer prayers during the procession.
Finally, after completing all rituals, the Utsava idols will return to the Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Tirupati. Temple officials have arranged necessary facilities for devotees. Therefore, authorities expect the event to proceed smoothly.
