On Union Budget day, discussions across the country usually focus on allocations and policies. However, fashion lovers and handloom enthusiasts turn their attention to one unique detail each year — the saree worn by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Over the years, her budget-day attire has emerged as a quiet tribute to India’s rich textile heritage and skilled handloom artisans.
Each saree she chooses reflects a region, a tradition, and a story. From Andhra Pradesh to Bihar and Tamil Nadu, her wardrobe during budget sessions highlights the cultural diversity of India.
