Commercial LPG cylinder prices have increased since February 1, bringing fresh cost pressure on businesses that rely heavily on cooking fuel. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) raised the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹49 as part of their regular monthly revision.
This price hike affects hotels, restaurants, catering units, and small food businesses that depend on commercial LPG for daily operations. Domestic consumers, however, received some relief, as household LPG prices remain unchanged.
New Commercial LPG Price in Major Cities
In Delhi, the retail price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder now stands at ₹1,740.50. Similar revisions have taken place across other cities, with prices varying based on local taxes and transportation costs.
OMCs revise LPG prices on the first day of every month. These changes depend on global fuel prices, currency fluctuations, and domestic logistics expenses.
No Change in Domestic LPG Cylinder Rates
While commercial users face higher costs, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain stable. The price of the 14.2-kg household LPG cylinder has not changed as of February 1.
OMCs confirmed that they have not revised domestic LPG rates this month. This decision offers temporary relief to households already dealing with rising living expenses.
Impact on the Food and Hospitality Sector
The latest price hike is likely to affect the food and hospitality industry. Many restaurants and hotels may see an increase in operational costs due to higher fuel expenses. Some businesses may pass on the added burden to consumers through higher food prices.
Small eateries and catering services, which operate on thin margins, could feel the impact more sharply.
Monthly LPG Price Review Continues
LPG prices undergo monthly reviews based on international energy trends and domestic cost factors. Industry experts expect price fluctuations to continue in the coming months, depending on global crude oil movements.
For now, domestic consumers can take comfort in stable LPG prices, while commercial users prepare to adjust to the latest increase.
