The Andhra Pradesh Medical Council (APMC) elections witnessed remarkable participation on Monday, with 30,773 doctors casting their votes. Election officer Chakradhar Babu highlighted that this is the first election in 20 years, making the turnout highly significant.

Polling started at 8:00 AM and was initially scheduled to end by 5:00 PM. However, technical glitches extended the voting period until 8:00 PM. This extension allowed more doctors to exercise their rights. Out of approximately 56,000 registered doctors, over half participated. Babu emphasised that such engagement strengthens professional governance and accountability.
