A shocking incident has come to light from Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema district, where a married woman died after her husband allegedly slapped her during a domestic dispute. The tragic episode has raised serious concerns about domestic violence and its deadly consequences.
Incident in Bodasakuru Village
The incident occurred in Bodasakuru village under the Konaseema district limits. According to police officials, Illa Srihari, a resident of Illavaripaleni, married Venkata Soujanya from Pulletikurru about 15 years ago. The couple had two children and lived together in Bodasakuru.
On Tuesday, Srihari reportedly suspected his wife’s character and got into an argument with her. During the heated exchange, he slapped Soujanya on her cheek. Soon after, she collapsed and lost consciousness.
Woman Declared Dead at Hospital
Family members rushed Soujanya to Amalapuram Government Hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival. Medical officials informed the police that she had already passed away before receiving treatment.
Police Register Case, Investigation On
Following a complaint filed by the deceased woman’s mother, the police registered a case and launched an investigation. Bodasakuru Sub-Inspector Sampath Kumar confirmed that the probe is underway to determine the exact cause of death.
Amalapuram DSP Prasad and Rural CI Prashanth Kumar visited the village, examined the scene, and collected statements from family members and locals. The police are also awaiting further medical reports to establish whether the slap directly led to her death.
