Serious allegations of corruption have surfaced at the famous Annavaram Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy Temple in Andhra Pradesh. Devotees and local residents have accused temple staff of irregularities in prasadam preparation and financial handling. These claims have triggered strong public anger and demands for action.
Annavaram temple attracts lakhs of devotees every year. People visit the shrine for weddings, birthdays, and prayers for success. However, locals now claim that corruption has entered the temple system and hurt the faith of devotees.
According to the allegations, the temple purchases large quantities of ghee and cashew nuts for prasadam. Yet, devotees say these ingredients rarely appear in the prasadam given to the public. Instead, staff allegedly prepare rich and high-quality prasadam only when senior officials visit the temple.
Locals claim that temple staff prepare two types of prasadam. Officials receive better quality, while ordinary devotees get inferior food. They allege that this practice has continued for nearly four years. Many expected the situation to change after the new government took charge, but they say nothing has improved.
The main allegations focus on the prasadam preparation unit. Residents accuse six staff members of diverting ingredients and misusing funds. They also suspect that some senior officials ignored the issue or supported the staff silently.
Apart from prasadam issues, locals allege financial misuse. They claim that staff siphon off cash meant for bank deposits. According to them, large amounts go missing before reaching the bank. This has raised serious questions about temple administration.
The continued silence of authorities has increased public suspicion. Devotees now question whether higher officials are involved in the alleged wrongdoing.
Local residents and devotees have demanded a full inquiry into the prasadam unit and financial records. They have urged the state government to step in and take strict action. They say transparency is essential to protect faith and restore trust in the sacred temple.
