The controversy surrounding Allu Arjun over the alleged “42 rules” has taken another dramatic turn. What began as explosive claims on a podcast has now ended with a full retraction and apology from brand consultant Kaveri Baruah.
The episode sparked backlash, legal warnings, and intense debate across social media before being diffused by clarifications from all sides.
How the “42 Rules” Controversy Began
The issue started after Kaveri Baruah appeared on the Sweekriti Talks podcast. During the conversation, she claimed that people meeting Allu Arjun were handed a note containing 42 strict “dos and don’ts.”
According to her initial remarks, these rules allegedly included prohibitions on shaking hands, making eye contact, and even using mobile phones in the actor’s presence. She further stated that a bodyguard had once snatched her phone when she tried to use it for work.
The clip quickly went viral, triggering widespread reactions online.
Backlash and Legal Action
Soon after the video surfaced, fans and members of the film industry criticised the claims. Actor Rajasekhar publicly defended Allu Arjun, describing him as a “grounded artiste” and calling the allegations baseless.
In response, Allu Arjun’s team announced they were initiating defamation proceedings against those spreading what they termed false information.
As the controversy intensified, the podcast episode was removed from the platform. Initially, the host Sweekriti suggested that Baruah was facing coordinated harassment and accused the actor’s team of being “power hungry,” further fueling the debate.
Kaveri Baruah’s Complete Retraction
However, in a significant U-turn, Kaveri Baruah has now withdrawn her remarks in their entirety. She described her earlier statements as “incorrect and baseless.”
In her clarification, she stated:
No document containing “42 dos and don’ts” was ever issued to her by Allu Arjun or his representatives.
Her comments were made in the flow of conversation and should not have been interpreted as factual claims.
The statements were not based on any verified documents or evidence.
Her clarification marked a turning point in the controversy.
Apology From Both Sides
Baruah also expressed regret for any reputational damage or misunderstanding caused by her remarks. She emphasised that she holds the “utmost respect” for Allu Arjun.
Meanwhile, podcast host Sweekriti softened her earlier stance and issued an apology for the unintended impact of the video. She stated that there was no intention to defame or harm anyone.
Controversy Nears Closure
With both clarifications and apologies now issued, the “42 Rules” controversy appears to be nearing resolution. The incident highlights how quickly statements made during informal conversations can escalate into major public disputes in the digital age.
For now, the matter seems to have cooled, but it remains a reminder of the importance of accuracy and accountability in public discourse.
