A fresh twist has emerged in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road alignment case involving Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Municipal Minister P. Narayana. The Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau Court has now asked former Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy to clarify his position before it decides whether to close the case.
The case began during the previous YSRCP government. Alla Ramakrishna Reddy filed a complaint alleging irregularities in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road alignment and issues related to assigned lands. After the government changed, the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department reviewed the matter. The CID stated that it found no strong evidence to continue the case. It then approached the court seeking permission to close it.
Court Seeks Alla’s Response
The ACB Court wants to hear the complainant before taking a final call. The judges directed Alla Ramakrishna Reddy to present any objections to the CID’s closure request. Authorities served him notices in Hyderabad. They asked him to appear before the ACB Court in Vijayawada on the 27th of this month.
The court made it clear that his response will influence the next step. If he raises objections, the hearing could take a different turn. If he agrees with the CID’s findings, the court may consider closing the case.
Political Impact Increases
The development carries political weight. Alla Ramakrishna Reddy reportedly distanced himself from the YSR Congress Party after he did not receive a ticket in the last elections. His present stand has therefore gained importance.
In earlier cases against Chandrababu Naidu, complainants were government officials. That made withdrawals easier. However, this case differs because a political leader filed the complaint. This factor adds complexity.
All Eyes on Upcoming Hearing
The CID maintains that the investigation did not reveal sufficient proof regarding the alignment and land allegations. Now, the spotlight shifts to the upcoming hearing in Vijayawada. The court will review the CID’s petition along with Alla’s response.
The decision could either close the Amaravati Inner Ring Road case or push it forward. Political circles are closely watching how events unfold in the coming days.
