In a significant step towards the construction of Amaravati, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the new Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (AP CRDA) Headquarters, accompanied by farmers who had donated their land for the project, on Monday.
Amidst the chants of Vedic hymns, priests offered a ceremonial welcome to the Chief Minister with Poornakumbham. Subsequently, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also inaugurated the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) office located inside the newly constructed CRDA building.
This is the first building to be completed and launched for official use since the resumption of Amaravati capital construction works after the TDP-led NDA government took office last year. After the inauguration, Naidu, along with MAUD Minister Dr Ponguru Narayana, inspected the premises. The MAUD Minister briefed the Chief Minister on construction details.
New CRDA building houses several government departments

The newly built 257-crore G+7 CRDA building, situated on a 4.32-acre site, houses several government and other wings that are meant for the development of Amaravati. Additionally, the State government has allocated space to the Integrated Command Control Room, conference halls and the Directorate of Municipal Administration.
Along with the G+7 structure, the government has also built four more PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) structures on eight acres of land. The State government allotted these buildings to TIDCO, Swachh Andhra Corporation, RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority), Green Corporation and MEPMA (Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas).
Furthermore, the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) under the aegis of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) awarded Net Zero Energy (Design) Certification to the new AP CRDA Headquarters.
Earlier, before the inauguration, the Chief Minister interacted with the farmers who gave up their lands and appreciated them for their contribution towards the construction of the capital city.
Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Dr Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, MLAs, and MPs were present at the inaugural ceremony.
