The Andhra Pradesh High Court took serious note of the recent attack on former minister Ambati Rambabu’s residence and issued clear directions to the police. The court ordered round-the-clock security for Ambati Rambabu’s family, stressing the need to ensure their safety amid rising political tensions.
Court Seeks Accountability From Police
While hearing a petition filed by Ambati Rambabu’s wife, the High Court questioned police officials about the current security arrangements. The bench asked whether police protection had already been provided and directed authorities to act without delay. The court made it clear that any lapse in safeguarding the family would not be tolerated.
The petition highlighted concerns over threats and violence following the attack on the residence. Taking the matter seriously, the court emphasised that law and order must prevail regardless of political differences.
Ambati Rambabu Remains in Police Custody
Meanwhile, Ambati Rambabu continues to remain in custody at Nallapadu Police Station. Police arrested him late last night in connection with remarks allegedly made against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Officials are likely to present him before a magistrate shortly.
Two Cases Registered Against Former Minister
Police have already registered two separate cases against Ambati Rambabu. One case relates to obstruction of police duties, while the other concerns allegations linked to objectionable comments. Authorities confirmed that investigations are moving forward as per legal procedure.
Situation Remains Tense
Following the attack and arrest, the situation in parts of the Guntur district remains sensitive. Police have increased vigilance to prevent further unrest. Senior officials are monitoring developments closely to avoid escalation.
The High Court’s intervention has brought the focus back on public safety and lawful conduct. With security now mandated, authorities are expected to act swiftly to maintain peace and protect those involved.
