The Centre has given major Sankranti-time good news to Andhra Pradesh. It has accelerated the process of setting up the South Coastal Railway Zone in Visakhapatnam. Indian Railways has approved staff allocation, which will help speed up operations.
This move brings the railway zone closer to becoming fully functional. The Centre is now actively implementing the promise made under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. Earlier, the Union government approved the zone with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also laid the foundation stone for the zone building. Construction work is now nearing completion.
Staff Allocation to Accelerate Railway Zone Work
Indian Railways has decided to transfer nearly 959 employees to the South Coastal Railway Zone. Officials aim to complete the transfer process soon. This step will help start administrative and operational work without delay. Railway authorities expect faster progress once the staff joins.
Recently, South Central Railway General Manager Sanjay Kumar met South Coastal Railway General Manager Sandeep. During the meeting, both officials agreed to immediately allocate employees to the new zone. As a result, the railway zone process gained fresh momentum.
Uttarandhra to Benefit from New Railway Zone
The new railway zone will bring major changes to Uttarandhra. Improved railway connectivity will create more job opportunities. At the same time, better infrastructure will attract new industries to the region. People will also get access to more railway services for travel.
