The State Disaster Management Authority has issued an AP weather alert for Andhra Pradesh over the next 48 hours. A developing low-pressure area is expected to form due to the influence of the Hindu Maha Samudram and the adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal. This system is likely to move in a west-northwest direction.
Expected Rainfall Across Districts
As a result, light to moderate rains accompanied by occasional thunderstorms are predicted tomorrow and the day after in districts such as Kadapa, Annamayya, Chittoor, and Tirupati. Other districts may also see scattered light rains with occasional thunderstorms.
Safety Advisory for Residents
Authorities have advised residents to exercise caution, especially during heavy rainfall. People are specifically warned not to take shelter under trees during thunderstorms. Staying alert and following weather updates will help minimise risks during this period.
Monitoring and Preparedness
The State Disaster Management Authority continues to monitor the weather system closely. Local authorities are on standby to assist in case of flooding or other weather-related emergencies.
