Andhra Pradesh has received the prestigious National Energy Conservation Award 2025, securing first prize in the Group-II category for its strong performance in energy conservation. The honour highlights the state’s sustained efforts to promote efficient power use.
At a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan on Sunday, APSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Shivasankar Lotheti accepted the award from President Droupadi Murmu on behalf of the state. Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Minister of State Shripad Yesso Naik attended the event.
The awards also recognised achievements in energy savings by central government institutions. The Guntakal Diesel Traction Training Centre under the South Central Railway won a national award in the government buildings category for saving 53,132 units of electricity. South Central Railway General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava received the award from the President on behalf of the organisation.
Officials said the recognition underscores Andhra Pradesh’s leadership in energy conservation and reinforces its commitment to sustainable power management across sectors.
