Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal was relieved from his duties. He formally handed over charge to Additional Executive Officer C.H. Venkayya Chowdary. The change marks another key administrative shift at the country’s richest temple trust.
Interim Arrangement Until New EO Takes Charge
Venkayya Chowdary will continue as the in-charge Executive Officer until Mudadda Ravichandra assumes office. The state government transferred Ravichandra, who currently serves as Special Principal Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office, as the new TTD EO. Officials expect him to take charge very soon.
TTD authorities confirmed that the handover process was completed smoothly. Administrative work at Tirumala will continue without disruption during the transition period.
Singhal Offers Final Prayers at Tirumala Temple
Before stepping down, Anil Kumar Singhal visited the Tirumala temple with his wife. The couple had darshan of Lord Venkateswara and took part in temple rituals. Priests later offered Vedic blessings to them at the Ranganayakula Mandapam inside the temple complex.
Temple officials presented the traditional Shesha Vastram to the Singhal couple as part of the farewell ritual. TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu also met Singhal and presented him with a framed photograph of the deity along with theertha and prasadam. Soon after the ceremony, Singhal officially handed over charge to Venkayya Chowdary.
Background of the Transfer Decision
Anil Kumar Singhal became the second TTD Executive Officer to face transfer following the controversy over alleged adulterated ghee used in Tirumala laddu preparation. Earlier, the government transferred Shyamala Rao from the same post. Singhal was appointed as EO after that decision.
The latest transfer followed a report submitted by a Special Investigation Team (SIT). Based on the findings, the government decided to remove Singhal from the post. The report reportedly included recommendations to take action against him over issues linked to his tenure.
Government Acts on SIT Report
Sources said the SIT examined administrative decisions taken during Singhal’s term. The report flagged concerns and suggested corrective steps. Acting on these recommendations, the government relieved Singhal from his responsibilities at TTD.
The decision has drawn attention due to the sensitive nature of temple administration and public faith linked to Tirumala. Officials maintain that the government aims to ensure transparency and accountability in TTD functioning.
Focus on Stability at TTD
With Venkayya Chowdary taking interim charge and Ravichandra expected to join soon, the government hopes to restore administrative stability at TTD. Devotees and staff continue to watch developments closely, as Tirumala remains one of the most significant religious institutions in the country.
The new leadership now faces the task of rebuilding confidence and ensuring smooth temple operations in the coming months.
