Amaravati:
The coalition government in Andhra Pradesh has announced welcome news for DWCRA women, extending financial support to newly formed self-help groups. As part of this initiative, the government has credited ₹15,000 directly into the bank account of each eligible DWCRA group.
Under the revolving fund scheme, the government sanctioned nearly ₹3 crore for about 2,000 DWCRA groups. Each group received ₹15,000 to strengthen its financial base. Officials clarified that this assistance applies to DWCRA groups formed between August 2, 2024, and November 30, 2025.
No Repayment Required
The government confirmed that DWCRA members do not need to repay the ₹15,000 revolving fund. Since the amount remains in the group’s bank account, it increases the group’s overall corpus. This financial strength helps groups access bank loans more easily and at a faster pace.
Easier Access to Loans
With funds available in their accounts, DWCRA groups become eligible for higher loan amounts from banks. More women can benefit from credit support, enabling them to invest in livelihoods, small businesses, and savings. Officials noted that consistent savings through these funds will bring long-term financial stability to women members.
Additional Support Schemes
Alongside the revolving fund, the government continues to facilitate bank loans for DWCRA women under schemes such as Stree Nidhi and Vidya Lakshmi. To ease loan repayments and improve financial transparency, the government has also launched a new mobile application called “Mana Dabbulu–Mana Lekkalū”, which helps women manage instalments and track finances efficiently.
Government Focus on Women Empowerment
The Andhra Pradesh government stated that these measures aim to strengthen women’s self-help groups and promote economic independence. By combining direct financial assistance, easier access to credit, and digital tools, the government seeks to support the overall development of DWCRA women across the state.
