Book-style foldable design spotted in leaked renders
Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone has reportedly surfaced online, offering the clearest look yet at its expected design. According to leaked renders shared by YouTube channel Front Page Tech and well-known tipster Ice Universe, Apple’s first foldable smartphone may closely resemble the Google Pixel Fold.
The leaked images suggest that Apple will adopt a book-style foldable design, similar to other premium foldable devices currently available in the market. Notably, the device appears to feature a large inner display along with a smaller outer cover screen.
Minimal crease and premium finish highlighted
Unlike some existing foldables, the leaked renders highlight a minimal crease along the fold area. This detail is significant, as crease visibility has been a major criticism of devices like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series. Therefore, Apple seems to be focusing on durability and a seamless viewing experience.
Commenting on the design comparison, Ice Universe stated that Apple’s foldable and Samsung’s Wide Fold appear almost identical. However, the key difference lies in the shape. While Samsung’s design looks more square, Apple’s version appears more rounded.
Expected features of the foldable iPhone
Early leaks indicate that Apple may make notable changes to accommodate the foldable form factor. For instance, the company could ditch Face ID, possibly due to space constraints. Instead, Apple is expected to introduce a 24MP under-display selfie camera, offering an uninterrupted display.
In addition, reports suggest that the cover screen may also feature a 24MP front camera, making video calls and selfies more convenient when the phone is folded.
On the rear, the foldable iPhone may include a dual-camera setup with two 48MP sensors—one standard and one ultra-wide. However, Apple may skip the telephoto lens to maintain a slim profile.
Foldable iPhone expected price
Meanwhile, multiple online reports claim that Apple’s first foldable iPhone could be priced at around $2,399, positioning it firmly in the ultra-premium smartphone segment.
