The Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) has undertaken extensive beautification and cleaning works ahead of the visit of Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and Chairman of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Gates is scheduled to visit Amaravati on Monday, prompting authorities to accelerate preparations across key routes in the capital region.
Special Arrangements Under ADC Leadership
Under the directions of ADC Chairperson and Managing Director D. Lakshmi Parthasarathy, officials initiated large-scale beautification drives along important VIP routes. The administration focused on presenting Amaravati as a clean, organised, and visually appealing city during the high-profile visit.
The engineering and greenery department teams worked continuously to complete the arrangements on time. Officials remained actively engaged in supervision and execution until late Sunday night.
Major Roads Cleaned and Restored
Authorities cleaned and restored nearly 10 kilometres of key road stretches, including:
Krishna Karakatta Road
Seed Axis Road (E-3 Phase 1 & 2)
N-9 Road leading to the State Secretariat
Workers removed debris, cleared roadside waste, and washed VIP routes using water tankers. Crews also levelled both sides of the Krishna Karakatta to ensure a neat and uniform appearance.
Beautification with Decorative Plants
To enhance the aesthetic appeal of the city, ADC planted ornamental and flowering plants along major routes. Landscapers installed attractive varieties such as:
Fan Palms
Bougainvillea
Clusia Rosea
Areca Palms
In addition, workers painted road dividers with fresh colours to create a welcoming atmosphere for visiting dignitaries.
Amaravati Gears Up for Global Attention
The visit of Bill Gates places Amaravati in the global spotlight. Officials believe that the preparations reflect the city’s commitment to infrastructure development and urban standards. The administration ensured that every visible aspect of the VIP routes met high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
With arrangements completed at a brisk pace, Amaravati now stands ready to host one of the world’s most influential philanthropists and technology leaders.
