Senior Jana Sena Party leader Bolisetti Satyanarayana has announced a temporary break from his party responsibilities. He took this decision due to an ongoing case in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The leader said the move is necessary to maintain ethical clarity until the court delivers its final verdict.
Bolisetti currently serves as Jana Sena Party Secretary and National Convener of the Jal Biradari initiative. He announced in a public post on X that the decision is voluntary and not forced by the party.
High Court Case Triggers Ethical Decision
Bolisetti Satyanarayana filed a Public Interest Litigation related to pollution issues in North Andhra Pradesh. The case names the Andhra Pradesh Environment Department as a respondent. Since Jana Sena is part of the ruling government, the matter became sensitive.
The situation gained more attention because Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan holds the Environment Ministry portfolio. Bolisetti felt it was inappropriate to hold a key party post while pursuing a legal case involving a department led by his own party minister.
No Conflict of Interest, Says Bolisetti
Explaining his stand, Bolisetti said he wanted to avoid any conflict of interest. He stressed that his legal battle focuses only on environmental justice. According to him, public welfare must come before political positions.
Party sources also mention that earlier remarks by former IPS officer AB Venkateswara Rao played a role. Those comments focused on environmental concerns linked to Amaravati. However, Bolisetti did not directly confirm this link.
Not a Resignation, Only a Moral Break
Bolisetti strongly clarified that this is not a resignation from the Jana Sena Party. He described the move as a moral and ethical pause. He said his faith in Jana Sena’s ideology remains strong.
He also assured party supporters that he would return to active responsibilities if the leadership asks him to. This would happen only after the High Court completes the case and delivers its judgment.
Focus Remains on Environmental Justice
Bolisetti said environmental justice should not suffer due to political affiliations. He promised to continue his fight for pollution control through legal means. He believes transparency will protect both the party and the case.
The development has sparked discussion in political circles. Many leaders see the move as a rare example of ethical responsibility. Jana Sena Party has not released an official statement yet, but internal sources suggest the leadership respects his decision.
