Passengers onboard the Kashi Express faced tense moments after authorities received a bomb threat targeting the train traveling from Gorakhpur to Mumbai. An unidentified caller alerted the police control room, claiming that an explosive device had been planted on the train.
Following the warning, officials immediately stopped the Kashi Express at Mau railway station. Police teams, along with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF), rushed to the spot and launched a full-scale security operation.
Authorities safely deboarded all passengers and carried out a thorough inspection of every coach. After extensive checks, officials confirmed that they found no suspicious objects or explosives on the train. Passengers and railway staff later expressed relief as the situation returned to normal.
Mau Superintendent of Police Elamaran said the police acted swiftly after receiving the call in the morning. He confirmed that security teams followed all safety protocols while examining the train. “We found no explosive material during the inspection,” he stated.
Police have now launched an investigation to trace the source of the threat call. Officials suspect it may have been a hoax but said they are treating the case seriously. Train services resumed after security agencies gave clearance.
The incident caused brief panic among passengers but ended without any harm, thanks to prompt action by the railway and police authorities.
