TALLAPALEM: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said shaping a bright and golden future for students is his personal responsibility. He made these remarks during his visit to Tallapalem village in Anakapalli district, where he launched the ‘Mustabu’ programme at a Social Welfare Residential School.
Interacting with students, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of personal hygiene, health, confidence and discipline from a young age. He announced that the Mustabu programme, aimed at promoting cleanliness and healthy habits among students, has been rolled out across the state in both government and private schools. Around 75 lakh students studying up to Intermediate level will benefit from the initiative.
Chandrababu Naidu said the programme encourages students to attend school neatly dressed, maintain cleanliness, wash hands before meals and adopt healthy daily routines without any additional financial burden on parents or the government. He noted that such simple practices can significantly improve students’ health, self-confidence and leadership qualities.
The Chief Minister recalled that the programme was first implemented on a pilot basis in Parvathipuram Manyam district and received positive results, prompting its statewide expansion. He assured students that the government is providing free textbooks, uniforms, nutritious meals and financial assistance under various welfare schemes to support their education.

Later, Chandrababu Naidu walked through the village along with sanitation workers to personally inspect cleanliness efforts, underlining the government’s commitment to hygiene at all levels. Earlier, TDP leaders and ministers, including Speaker Ayyannapatrudu, Home Minister Anita and district in-charge minister Kollu Ravindra, accorded him a warm welcome at the helipad.
Reiterating that students are the state’s greatest asset in the emerging knowledge economy, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that innovative ideas and focused efforts would transform their future and strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s growth.
