The distribution of new Pattadar Passbooks has officially begun across Andhra Pradesh, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announcing that he will personally take part in the program for one day. The initiative, launched by the coalition government on the occasion of the New Year, aims to ensure transparent and error-free land record documentation for farmers.
New Pattadar Passbooks Rolled Out Across AP
Under this program, newly designed Pattadar Passbooks are being distributed to farmers in villages where the land survey process has been completed. These passbooks carry only the official government seal, without photographs of political leaders, and are printed with a QR code to enhance transparency and digital verification.
According to officials, nearly 22 lakh farmers will receive the new passbooks. The distribution drive started on Friday and will continue until January 9 across the state.
Transparent Distribution Through Gram Sabhas
The Andhra Pradesh government has directed revenue officials to conduct the distribution strictly through gram sabhas. Before handing over the passbooks, beneficiary details are being verified using the e-KYC process, ensuring accuracy and preventing discrepancies.
Ministers, MLAs, and other public representatives are actively participating in the village-level programs and distributing passbooks to eligible farmers.
CM Chandrababu Naidu Reviews Progress
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu conducted a virtual review meeting to assess the progress of the distribution. During the review, he emphasized the need for transparency and instructed officials to complete the process without errors. He also announced his decision to personally participate in the distribution program on a selected day.
Revenue Minister Angani Satya Prasad attended the review meeting and advised officials to ensure smooth execution of the initiative across all districts.
Focus on Farmer Welfare
The Pattadar Passbook distribution program reflects the government’s commitment to farmer welfare and clean governance. By introducing QR-coded, leader-photo-free passbooks, the state aims to strengthen trust in land records and improve service delivery at the grassroots level.
