Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday conducted a high-level review meeting on the proposed re-division of districts, divisions, and mandals across the state. Ministers and senior officials attended the meeting, where the government reviewed public objections received on the district reorganisation process.
The state government had issued a preliminary notification on November 27 inviting objections and suggestions from the public regarding the new district boundaries. The deadline for submitting objections ended today, with officials confirming that 927 objections were received from different parts of Andhra Pradesh.
Key Proposals Discussed
During the review, the Chief Minister examined several important proposals raised by citizens and local representatives. Among the major points discussed were:
Merging Rajampet with Kadapa district
Including Rayachoti in Madanapalle district
Merging Gudur with Nellore district
Including Podilini in Prakasam district
Merging Railway Kodur with Tirupati district
Officials briefed the Chief Minister on the administrative feasibility and public impact of each proposal.
Final Decision Soon
CM Chandrababu Naidu instructed officials to carefully study every objection before taking a final decision. He emphasized that the reorganisation should ensure better governance, improved public services, and administrative efficiency.
The government is preparing to issue the final notification on December 31, after completing a thorough review of all objections. With the addition of three new districts, the total number of districts in Andhra Pradesh will increase to 29.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the restructuring process aims to bring governance closer to the people and address long-standing regional demands in a transparent manner.
