Amaravati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu urged officials to enhance public satisfaction by delivering faster and more transparent services. While reviewing governance at a high-level conference with Ministers, Secretaries and Heads of Departments, he said the government must constantly adapt to meet people’s expectations.
Push for Simplified Rules and Faster File Approvals
Naidu suggested changes to business rules to speed up administrative processes. He reminded officials that the Constitution itself has undergone several amendments for public welfare. Therefore, simplifying procedures at the departmental level will only strengthen service delivery. He added that technology should support efficiency, yet a humanitarian approach must guide every final decision.
All Government Services to Go Online by January 15
Setting a firm deadline, the Chief Minister announced that every government service must be made available online by January 15. Although many departments have made progress, a few are still behind schedule. He directed them to catch up quickly. To ensure last-mile delivery, he emphasized the need to improve village and ward secretariats. He also said public representatives and officials must remain fully accountable to citizens.
No Power Tariff Hike This Year
In a major relief to consumers, Naidu confirmed that the NDA government will not increase electricity tariffs. Additionally, efforts are underway to bring down the power purchase cost to ₹4 per unit, compared to ₹4.92 at present.
Andhra Pradesh Leads with 638 Industrial Parks
Highlighting AP’s industrial progress, the Chief Minister said the state now ranks first in India with 638 industrial parks. According to him, the government successfully restored Andhra Pradesh’s brand image, which is why investors are returning with confidence. The strong response to the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam stands as clear evidence.
State to Develop Three Major Economic Zones
To ensure balanced regional growth, Naidu announced the development of three major economic zones:
- Visakhapatnam Region – North Andhra & East Godavari
- Amaravati Region – West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur & Prakasam
- Tirupati Region – Nellore & Kurnool
These zones, he said, will boost investments and create new opportunities across the state.
Growth Momentum and Irrigation Strengthening
The Chief Minister expressed confidence in achieving the state’s ambitious targets. Andhra Pradesh recorded 12.02% growth in Q1 and 11.28% in Q2 of 2025-26. The government aims to reach 17.11% growth by the end of the financial year.
He also noted strong progress in irrigation, with 944 TMC of water stored across projects. This, he said, will greatly support farmers and help stabilise agriculture.
Focus on Accountability and Grievance Redressal
Although many departments have improved over the past 18 months, a few still need to step up. Naidu pointed to the Revenue and Endowments departments and urged them to enhance their performance. He also praised improvements in TTD operations and encouraged temples across the state to follow the same standards.
Naidu said the government must win public confidence through consistent and accountable service. He stressed real-time monitoring of officers’ performance and insisted on stronger grievance redressal systems. Departments, he said, should interact directly with petitioners to understand issues better.
Additionally, he directed officials to rely on data-driven governance by using the state’s Data Lake for informed decision-making.
The conference was attended by Ministers, the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretaries and Heads of Departments. Departmental secretaries later presented their performance reports.
