Amaravati witnessed a moment of tribute and remembrance as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan unveiled the statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The event took place in Venkatapalem on the occasion of Vajpayee’s birth anniversary.
The leaders unveiled a 13-foot bronze statue installed as a mark of respect to Vajpayee’s contribution to the nation. The ceremony drew several prominent leaders and party workers, creating a solemn yet inspiring atmosphere in the capital region.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu recalled Vajpayee’s visionary leadership and his role in strengthening India’s democratic values. He highlighted Vajpayee’s support for infrastructure development and governance reforms, which continue to influence the country even today. Naidu said Vajpayee believed in inclusive growth and cooperative federalism, values that remain relevant for India’s progress.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised Vajpayee as a statesman who placed the nation above politics. He said Vajpayee’s leadership during challenging times helped India move forward with confidence. Chouhan added that the statue would inspire future generations to follow the path of integrity, dedication, and national service.
Union Ministers Pemmasani Chandrasekhar and Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma attended the event along with BJP Andhra Pradesh state president PVN Madhav. Several party leaders, officials, and local residents also participated in the programme.
The installation of Vajpayee’s statue in Amaravati reflects the state’s commitment to honour national leaders who shaped modern India. Organisers said the statue would serve as a symbol of leadership, unity, and democratic values for visitors and residents alike.
The event concluded with floral tributes and messages highlighting Vajpayee’s lasting legacy in Indian politics and governance.
