TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu said the recent incident at Tirumala was not a minor mistake. He described it as a grave sin and an insult to Lord Venkateswara. Speaking strongly, Naidu stated that any act harming the sanctity of Tirumala deeply hurts the faith of devotees. He stressed that such matters demand seriousness, not excuses.
“I Am Only an Ordinary Devotee,” Says Naidu
Chandrababu Naidu said Lord Venkateswara is the god he trusts the most. However, he made it clear that he visits Tirumala only as a common devotee. He added that he never used the Vaikuntha Dwaram for darshan. According to him, devotion must come with humility, not arrogance or privilege.
Government’s Duty to Protect Tirumala’s Sanctity
Naidu clearly stated that protecting the purity of Tirumala is the government’s responsibility. He said no administration has the right to compromise temple traditions. Moreover, he stressed that faith should always remain above politics. Any negligence, he warned, damages public trust and religious values.
Cautious Response to Adulterated Ghee Allegations
While speaking on the adulterated ghee issue, Naidu said the government acted carefully. Instead of reacting immediately, officials first focused on verification. As part of the purification process, the government sent Shyamala Rao to Tirumala. During the visit, Rao immediately requested a report from the National Dairy Development Board.
NDDB Report Confirmed Adulteration
Naidu said he addressed the issue publicly only after receiving the NDDB report. The findings clearly pointed to adulteration in the ghee. More importantly, the report confirmed the presence of animal fat. He called the revelation disturbing and unacceptable for a sacred place like Tirumala.
Faith Must Never Be Compromised
Finally, Chandrababu Naidu said the issue was not political but spiritual. He urged officials and temple authorities to stay vigilant. He also appealed for strict monitoring to prevent such incidents in the future. According to him, protecting Tirumala’s holiness is essential for preserving the faith of millions of devotees.
