Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu strongly criticised the alleged lapses that occurred at Tirumala during the YSR Congress Party regime. Speaking from Tirumala, he said those who commit wrongdoing against Lord Venkateswara will face consequences in this lifetime itself. He made it clear that Tirumala’s sanctity cannot be compromised under any circumstances.
Chandrababu Naidu stated that he raised concerns over laddu prasadam adulteration only after reviewing the NDDB report. He said he spoke with responsibility and not for political gain. According to him, protecting the spiritual purity of Tirumala remains his top priority.
The Chief Minister recalled that during his earlier tenure, his government appointed sincere and committed officers to ensure discipline at TTD. He specifically mentioned officer Shyamalarao and said such appointments aimed to maintain transparency and devotion in temple administration. He accused the previous government of allowing serious irregularities at Tirumala and then attempting to divert attention when questions arose.
Chandrababu Naidu said his government formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the alleged TTD irregularities. He expressed anger that, instead of cooperating with the probe, some leaders demanded an apology from him. He questioned how anyone could expect silence when the sacredness of Tirumala stands threatened.
The Chief Minister stated that political pressure would not stop him from taking action. He said accountability must follow any act that damages the reputation of Tirumala. He added that his government would identify those responsible and ensure strict action.
Concluding his remarks, Chandrababu Naidu said safeguarding Tirumala’s holiness is both his duty and responsibility. He reaffirmed that his government will take every step needed to protect the spiritual values of the revered hill shrine.
