Hyderabad continues to report dangerous accidents caused by Chinese manja, even after a High Court ban. Despite clear orders, illegal sale and usage remain unchecked across the city. In the latest incidents, three people suffered severe injuries, triggering fresh safety concerns.
In Uppal, a young man named Saivardhan Reddy suffered serious injuries while riding a bike. Chinese manja struck his throat suddenly, causing heavy bleeding. Locals acted quickly and rushed him to a private hospital. Doctors confirmed that his condition is stable. Residents say such incidents occur frequently and pose a constant threat to commuters.
Software Engineer Seriously Injured While Riding Bike
In another shocking case, a software engineer named Chaitanya lost his hand due to Chinese manja. The incident occurred while he was traveling from Gachibowli to Hafizpet. Near the Botanical Garden flyover, a kite string wrapped around his hand and severed it instantly. Locals shifted him to a private hospital in Madhapur for emergency treatment.
People say broken manja often hangs in the air after kite flying. As a result, riders face serious danger on busy roads. Accidents also affect birds, electric wires, and public property.
Sagar Highway Incident Raises Alarm
On the Sagar Highway, Sabhaval Madhu from Tirumalgiri in Nalgonda district suffered finger injuries. Chinese manja hanging from an electric pole hit him while he was riding a bike near a mall area. Locals informed the Yacharam police, who rushed him to the hospital. Police have started investigating the illegal sale of Chinese manja in the area.
Despite the ban, repeated accidents highlight enforcement failures. Citizens are demanding strict action and increased checks to prevent further loss of life.
