Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu criticised the handling of temple prasadam during the five-year YCP rule. He alleged that temples, including the famous Sri Sailam shrine, distributed prasadam carelessly.
Naidu claimed that Tirumala laddus were even made using cleaning chemicals. “I am speaking based on the NDDB report,” he said. He stressed that the lapses were officially recorded and could not be ignored.
He responded to YCP leaders who said the CBI and SIT cleared all allegations. Naidu pointed out that the SIT report clearly shows irregularities. He added that former TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy admitted that mistakes had occurred.
“These are verified issues, not political claims,” Naidu said. He called for strict action to protect devotees’ faith and maintain the sanctity of temple rituals.
His remarks have reignited debate over temple management accountability and highlighted administrative failures during the YCP tenure.
