Senior IPS officer CV Anand has once again proved that age is no barrier to fitness and performance. At 57, the former Hyderabad Police Commissioner impressed cricket fans and netizens alike by scoring a brilliant half-century in the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) One-Day League Championship quarter-final. Opening the innings for his team, Anand showcased remarkable stamina, timing, and discipline, setting an inspiring example for youth and working professionals.
Fitness on Display at Gymkhana Grounds
The achievement gained wider attention after two young fitness trainers, Karthik and Mahadev, sought an appointment with Anand to understand his fitness routine. Instead of a formal meeting, Anand invited them directly to the Gymkhana Grounds in Secunderabad. There, he demonstrated his preparation live on the field during a match against the Victory team.
The trainers captured his warm-up routine, batting practice, and match performance, including the moment he completed his fifty. When coach Karthik shared the video on Instagram, it quickly went viral, drawing praise from across social media platforms.
“Warm-Up Is Non-Negotiable,” Says Anand
In the viral video, CV Anand stressed the importance of warming up before any physical activity. He performed jogging, stretching, and arm-rotation exercises before stepping onto the field. “Warm-up is essential to avoid injuries. Stretching also helps muscle recovery after the game,” he explained. His disciplined approach resonated strongly with fitness enthusiasts and amateur athletes.
Sports as a Way of Life
A 1991-batch IPS officer, CV Anand has consistently spoken about making sports a part of daily life to manage professional stress. In earlier interviews, he shared that cricket, tennis, golf, yoga, and pranayama play a vital role in keeping him physically fit and mentally sharp.
Despite holding a demanding position as the Special Chief Secretary of the Telangana Home Department, Anand continues to prioritize health and work-life balance.
Netizens Applaud the IPS Officer’s Fitness
Social media users flooded the post with admiration. “Your fitness at 57 is truly inspiring,” wrote one user. Another joked, “BCCI should select you based on fitness and performance, not age.”
CV Anand’s half-century in the HCA League is more than just a sporting milestone. It stands as a powerful reminder that consistent fitness, discipline, and passion can help anyone perform at their best—at any age.
