Political tensions in Srikakulam district have intensified after a sharp war of words between former Deputy Chief Minister Dharmana Krishna Das and suspended YSRCP leader Duvvada Srinivas. What began as political differences has now escalated into serious allegations of a murder plot and open public challenges, creating widespread unrest in the district.
Duvvada Srinivas Alleges Murder Plot
Duvvada Srinivas alleged that a conspiracy was being planned to kill him by individuals linked to Dharmana Krishna Das. According to Srinivas, he received information that a person named Appanna, reportedly close to Dharmana, conveyed details of the alleged plot through a phone call to another individual.
Angered by the information, Duvvada Srinivas immediately travelled from Hyderabad to Srikakulam.
Midnight Protest on National Highway
Late on Friday night, Srinivas appeared on the national highway, where he issued a dramatic public challenge. He demanded that those plotting against him come forward and “kill him if they have the courage.” He recorded the incident on video and later shared it on social media, which quickly went viral and triggered political tension across the district.
Allegations of Political Vendetta
Srinivas further claimed that the Dharmana brothers orchestrated his suspension from the YSR Congress Party due to personal vendetta. He warned that if he were completely expelled from the party, he would intensify his fight against what he described as the suppression of a particular section of people in the district.
Dharmana Krishna Das Rejects Claims
Responding to the allegations, Dharmana Krishna Das strongly denied any involvement. He questioned why he would hold any personal grudge against Duvvada Srinivas and described the accusations as baseless and unnecessary.
Dharmana clarified that while he did speak to Appanna, he never intended any harm toward Srinivas. He added that such allegations only damage the credibility of those making them.
Political Heat Rises in Srikakulam
The incident has added fuel to ongoing political rivalries in Srikakulam. Meanwhile, party leaders and local authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any escalation and maintain public order.
