A viral laptop offer in Dilsukhnagar created chaos on Sunday after a company advertised laptops for just Rs. 4,000. As the offer spread rapidly on social media, hundreds of people gathered near the shop, leading to heavy congestion and tension in the area.
Social Media Ad Triggers Massive Response
According to locals, the company promoted refurbished second-hand laptops online for several days. The advertisement claimed that laptops usually priced between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 30,000 would be sold for only Rs. 4,000. As a result, many people rushed to the shop, hoping to buy affordable laptops for children’s education and gaming.
Crowds Swell, Police Step In
From early Sunday morning, hundreds of people lined up even before the shop opened. However, as the crowd grew, the situation quickly went out of control. The narrow road leading to the shop caused confusion and minor scuffles.
After receiving information, police reached the spot and tried to control the crowd. Meanwhile, several people questioned the company for announcing such a massive offer without making proper arrangements.
Doubts Over Offer, Experts Issue Warning
Despite the huge turnout, it remains unclear whether all customers received laptops or if the campaign was merely a publicity stunt. Meanwhile, cyber and consumer experts warned people to remain cautious.
They advised the public not to blindly trust extremely cheap offers promoted on social media, as such deals may lead to financial loss or fraud.
